CodeRED Notification System

The Township of Joly is offering CodeRED to their residents. CodeRED is a mass notification system that allows the Township to notify residents quickly in the event of an emergency and is used to provide general information as well that you need to know. The system allows the Township to deliver messages to you via phone, cell, text and email.

There are two types of calls or messages you may receive, emergency notifications or general notifications:

We suggest you program both numbers in your phones as a new contact.

What should I do if I receive a CodeRED message? Listen or read carefully to the entire message, you will have the option to repeat the message by pressing any key if received via phone. Do not call 911 for further information unless directed to do so or if you need immediate aid from the Police, Fire or EMS.

There is also a free CodeRED mobile alert app for iPhone or android subscribers, which will allow you to stay informed no matter where you are. When traveling, your CodeRED Mobile Alert app will notify you of any emergency situation if you are near a community using the CodeRED system. Download it now by going to your app store on your phone.

We encourage all residents to sign up, its free and a great way to be aware of emergencies or general information in a timely manner.

Almaguin Highlands OPP Detachment Board

The Community Safety and Policing Act, 2019, came into effect on April 1, 2024 and has replaced the Police Services Act, to focus on addressing community safety; enhancing police oversight; modernizing policing, and establishing consistent mandated training requirements.

Under the CSPA, it is required that there be an Ontario Provincial Police Detachment Board for each detachment that provides policing in a municipality or First Nations community.

In 2021, the Ministry of the Solicitor General approved a new board, being the Almaguin Highlands OPP Detachment Board, composed of seven members: four Municipal Councillors, two Community Representatives, one Provincial Appointee, and one Secretary (a non-voting member).

The Almaguin Highlands OPP Detachment Board represents the 12 municipalities within Almaguin Highlands.
